ESR ESS Forgotten Username or Password

This guide will go over how you can recover your username and password if you forget your login details.

Requirements

In order for this to work, your nhs.net email should be set up in ESR. If that has not been done, you can contact HR Admin.

Navigate to Forgotten Username or Password

This section will cover how to get to the reset screen.

Open up ESR and select "Login to ESR"

Here is the link: https://my.esr.nhs.uk alternatively if you are on a trust PC there should be a link on your desktop.

Select "Forgotten | Request Username/Password | Unlock Account"

This will take you to the screen where you can get your username and password.

Request Username/Password

This screen is in two parts, for the purposes of this guide we will not be looking at Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as that will be covered in another guide.

Note: If you know your username and only wish to reset your password, you can go straight to "(Optional) Enter Username" section further along in this guide.

The bottom half is what we will need to complete:

Enter Email

This needs to be your NHS.net email address that’s associated with your ESR account.

Enter Date of Birth

(Optional) Enter Username

If you know your username and don’t need a password reset, you can just enter it here and hit submit. You do not need to enter the email or date of birth.

Press "Submit"

Review Confirmation Message and Press "OK"

Note: Once a password-reset has been requested you will have a limited time frame to action the email once it arrives in your account.

Click link and set new password

Once you receive the email you will see a password reset link and if necessary, your username.

Enter the username and your new password and click confirm password.
